Re-appointments To The Advisory Board On The Registration Of Homeopathic Products

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and the are pleased to announce the re-appointment of the Chair and one member to the Advisory Board on the Registration of (ABRHP).

The ABRHP is an that works closely with the MHRA, advising ministers on the regulation of .

Chambers OBE has been re-appointed as Chair of the ABRHP and has served on the Board for the past six years. He received an OBE for services to medicine in 2009.

Currently a and at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, he is also a senior in child health at and is the UK alternate to the Paediatric Committee at the Agency.

Dr Chambers OBE has been appointed for a four-year term commencing 1 April 2010 and ending 31 March 2014.

Dr Frank Mulder has been re-appointed as a member of the ABRHP. He is currently a at the Helios Medical Centre in Bristol.

Dr Mulder has been appointed for a four-year term commencing 1 March 2010 and ending 28 February 2014.

These appointments are not remunerated, however a fee of £400 per meeting for the Chair and £275 per meeting for members is paid to cover preparation and attendance together with any travel and .

All appointments are made on merit. Political activity plays no part in the selection process. In accordance with the original Nolan Recommendations there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity (if declared) to be made public.

The appointments have been made in accordance with the Commissioner for Code of Practice.
